Matthew Mason

Senior Vice President and Managing Director - Real Estate

Mr. Mason leads McKinley's Commercial Client Services and Joint Venture divisions. He has significant expertise in assisting institutional clients in the workout of distressed shopping centers, office buildings and industrial buildings throughout the United States. Mr. Mason has been appointed as a court-appointed Receiver for distressed assets in multiple jurisdictions throughout the country, leading a team of eight commercial portfolio and asset managers who employ a disciplined, value added business model to ensure successful results for their clients. Including the management of his team, Matt's duties include relationship management, commercial portfolio management and redevelopment, lease negotiation, and acquisition and disposition of new assets. Mr. Mason is a member of McKinley's Executive Committee. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan–Dearborn where he studied Political Science and History ('96, B.A.). After graduation from U-M, Mr. Mason attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan (’98, J.D.). He is a member of the Michigan State Bar, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and earned the prestigious designation of a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).

Thomas Gritter

Vice President and Managing Director Commercial Real Estate

Thomas Gritter is Vice President and Managing Director of Commercial Real Estate. In his role, Tom leads and manages McKinley’s owned commercial real estate portfolio of shopping centers, office buildings, and mixed-use properties. Tom oversees McKinley’s commercial property management, leasing and accounting functions and is responsible for commercial financings, tax appeals and achieving investment goals. Mr. Gritter has a proven track record of driving leasing results, repositioning assets and adding value for owners, stakeholders and clients. Tom is a graduate with high distinction from the BBA program of the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan where he was also a 4-year standout on the Men's Varsity Soccer Team. Tom is a member of the Urban Land Institute and has over seven years of real estate development and management experience.

David Rohlfs

Assistant Director, Commercial Owned Real Estate

David Rohlfs is the Assistant Director of Commercial Owned Real Estate. Mr. Rohlfs is responsible for driving leasing results, analysis for commercial financings, special projects and long-term managed property management. Prior to joining McKinley, David played professional hockey for four years throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. David is a graduate from the BBA program of the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan where he was a member of the Men’s Hockey Team for four years.

Jeffrey Holman

Vice President of Property Management

Jeffrey Holman is Vice President of Property Management for McKinley's owned and long-term managed commercial properties. He oversees over 3.5 million square feet of retail shopping centers and office buildings in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia and Florida. In addition Jeff is responsible for enhancing and maintaining long-term client relationships and developing McKinley leaders. Mr. Holman has over 20 years of property management experience and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Masters of Business Administration - Finance degree from Baker College. Mr. Holman is a board member of the Chelsea, Michigan Downtown Development Authority.

Jessica Furlong, RPA, CCIM

Director of Operations - Commercial Client Services

Jessica Furlong, RPA, CCIM is the Director of Operations for Commercial Client Services with more than 19 years of industry experience. She joined McKinley, Inc. in 2010 and is currently part of the Ann Arbor leadership team. Ms. Furlong oversees the Northern Region of McKinley's Commercial Client Services real estate portfolio which includes shopping centers, office buildings, and mixed-use properties. She is a proven leader with entrepreneurial spirit and is responsible for developing the Commercial Client Services management team, providing value to McKinley clients, and increasing value in the assets managed. She attended Central Michigan University, is a licensed real estate broker in Michigan, and holds two designations -- the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and Real Property Administrator (RPA).

Lauren Leach

Director of Commercial Portfolio Management

As Director of Commercial Portfolio Management, Ms. Leach is responsible for the overall workout strategy and client relations of third-party managed assets. Lauren oversees the Commercial Portfolio Management Team, which performs asset management and adds value to a portfolio of distressed commercial properties. Within her portfolio, Ms. Leach handles the oversight of property management, leasing, tax appeals, and dispositions. Prior to working at McKinley, Ms. Leach was a retail broker in Chicago where she received the "Rookie of the Year" award by the Chicago Association of Realtors. Lauren is a co-founder and Vice President of WREN, an educational networking group for young women in real estate. Lauren received her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Michigan, completed graduate school at the University of Michigan in the Real Estate Development graduate program in 2009, and is currently pursuing a CCIM designation.

Clay Thomas

Director of Commercial Portfolio Management

As Director of Commercial Portfolio Management, Clay oversees the workouts and management of third-party real estate assets, which include distressed assets in multiple jurisdictions throughout the country. Clay’s duties include relationship management, commercial portfolio management and redevelopment, lease negotiations, acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to joining McKinley, Clay practiced real estate and construction law for two of Southeast Michigan’s leading law firms. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he studied Classical Studies ('97, B.A.) and Law (’00, J.D.). He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and on the council of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Robert Jones, CCIM

Assistant Director of Commercial Portfolio Management

As Assistant Director of Commercial Portfolio Management, Mr. Jones oversees the workouts and management of third-party real estate assets, which include distressed assets in multiple jurisdictions throughout the country. Prior to joining McKinley, Robert worked at Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust in several capacities including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, and financial planning and analysis. Mr. Jones holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Wayne State University (WSU). He also holds a Bachelor of Administration degree in Finance from Michigan State University (MSU). Mr. Jones is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) where he serves as a member of the Michigan State Government Relations Committee.

Chris Allen

Assistant Director of Commercial Portfolio Management

As Assistant Director of Commercial Portfolio Management, Chris oversees the workouts and management of third-party real estate assets, which include distressed assets in mulitple states throughout the country. Chris' duties include relationship management, commercial portfolio management, strategy and redevelopment, lease negotiations, acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to joining McKinley, Chris worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he worked on multi-billion dollar publicly traded companies providing assurance and advisory services. Mr. Allen holds a Masters in Accounting from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Michigan. In addition, Mr. Allen also studied international business strategy at the London School of Economics. Mr. Allen is currently a certified public accountant in the state of Michigan.

Chris Johnson

Commerial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Mr. Johnson is responsible for asset management, client relations, and workouts of distressed third party commercial real estate assets. Prior to joining McKinley, Chris worked at Chesapeake Real Estate Group, LLC where he was responsible for due diligence, financing, structuring joint ventures, and analysis of acquisitions. In addition, Chris was responsible for development management, asset management and partner relations on existing projects. Mr. Johnson holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from Carey Business School at The Johns Hopkins University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Economics from The University of Maryland- Baltimore County (UMBC).

Joshua Jacobs

Commercial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Mr. Jacobs is responsible for asset management, client relations and workouts of third-party commercial real estate assets, which include distressed assets in multiple jurisdictions. Josh has over nine years of experience as an attorney and as a real estate professional with a diversified background in corporate law, leasing, property management, negotiations and policy development. Josh is a graduate of Michigan State University where he studied Merchandising Management ('98, B.S.). After graduating from MSU, Josh attended the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois ('02, J.D.). He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and holds his real estate license in the state of Michigan.

Jennifer Logan

Commercial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Ms. Logan is responsible for asset management, client relations, and workouts of distressed third party commercial real estate assets. Prior to joining McKinley, Jennifer worked in title insurance in Chicago, specializing in national commercial transactions. She has 11 years experience with mergers and acquisitions, foreclosure, loan modification and refinance, receivership, as well as deed in lieu transactions. Ms. Logan has closed many multi-million dollar transactions with major corporations and law firms all over the United States. Jennifer holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.

Alex Wancier

Commercial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Mr. Wancier is responsible for asset management, client relations and workouts of distressed third party commercial assets. Prior to joining McKinley, Alex worked as part of the Investment and Loan Sale division at Farmington Hills based Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions, where he was responsible for the evaluation, marketing and disposition of REO and distressed debt on behalf of an institutional client base comprised of CMBS special servicers, banks, and insurance companies. Mr. Wancier holds an MBA from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, and a bachelor's of arts in Political Science from Emory University.

Krystol L. Rappuhn

Commercial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Ms. Rappuhn is responsible for asset management, client relations, and workouts of distressed third party commercial real estate assets. Prior to joining McKinley, Krystol practiced as a corporate real estate and litigation attorney, most recently as Corporate Counsel representing a real estate investment company with assets in multiple jurisdictions, which included hotels, commercial office buildings and high-end residential properties. She has over eleven years of experience handling all aspects of acquisitions and dispositions for commercial and residential properties. Krystol is a graduate of Michigan State University where she studied Interdisciplinary Social Science with an emphasis on Economics ('96, B.A.), followed by Wayne State University Law School ('99, J.D.). She is a memeber of the State Bar of Michigan.

Anthony Toth

Commercial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Mr. Toth is responsible for asset management, client relations, and workouts of distressed third party commercial real estate assets. Prior to joining the Commercial Team at McKinley, Anthony worked for McKinley's Residential Client Services team where he was responsible for asset management, client relations, and workouts of distressed third party residential real estate assets. Anthony attended the University of Michigan where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Management. Mr. Toth was also a member and captain of the University of Michigan Baseball Team where he contributed to two Big Ten Championships.

Stephen Baxter

Commercial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Mr. Baxter is responsible for asset management, client relations, and workouts of distressed third party commercial real estate assets. Prior to joining McKinley, Stephen worked at Jones Lang LaSalle in Chicago, Illinois, where he was responsible for advising public sector clients' real estate portfolio decisions and brokering office lease transactions for the United States Federal Government. In addition, Stephen was responsible for generating extensive market studies comprised of demographic and economic analysis, property reviews and property valuations. Mr. Baxter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from DePaul University and is working towards a Certificate in Construction Management from Armour College of Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology.

Bradley Segall

Commercial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Mr. Segall is responsible for asset management, client relations and workouts of distressed third party commercial assets. Prior to joining McKinley, Bradley worked as part of the Capital Markets Group at Jones Lang LaSalle in Denver, Colorado. While there, Bradley focused on institutional investment sales of office assets as well as net lease, sale-leaseback, and corporate real estate restructuring transactions. Bradley was in charge of research, writing, and market and economic analysis for all investment memorandum and market perspective publications. Mr. Segall holds an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder Leeds School of Business, and Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Melissa Gumenick

Commercial Portfolio Manager

As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, Ms. Gumenick is responsible for asset management, client relations, and workouts of distressed third party commercial real estate assets. Prior to joining the commercial team at McKinley, Melissa worked for McKinley's residential client services team where she had a similar role for third party residential real estate assets. Melissa has over 10 years working in the real estate industry. Her career began in Chicago with experience as a landlord representative leasing office and retail space, as well as 5 years as a residential sales agent in downtown Chicago. Melissa holds an MBA and an MS (Environmental Studies) through University of Michigan's Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise as well as a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois.
